Reports indicate that she initially suffered from a stroke and a broken hip. Pneumonia also set in before she finally passed on.

She is survived by her husband Ray Gundy, her sons Mike and Cale, daughter-in-law Kari Long, and eight grandchildren.

According to Mike, he inherited “a decent combination” of traits from both of his parents.

Mike says his mother was a fortune teller as well. She prophesied many years ago that her husband’s accomplishment would be dwarfed by what Mike would do as a coach.

In Tulsa, Oklahoma, Judy was very popular for her approach to parenting, which included instructing her son Mike to “toughen up and recognize he was better” than the child she was mentoring.

One such is when Judy advised Mike to “think about that other child” before he faced off in the wrestling tournament finals against a wrestler he had never defeated before.
